I really, really enjoy the Dark Ages expansion, and so does my girlfriend. I imagine we will periodically play DA only (or DA and one set) kingdoms, because the mechanics are so well defined and fun.

Also, I can’t resist messing with Rats any time they come up (and there is at least one trasher). My favorite, is Death Cart + Rats, because it is both awesome and flavorful (how do you defeat the black plague (rats)? Get rid of the dead bodies.)

    • I got to love the little flavor quirks that pop up in this game. Just the idea of hiring some junk collectors to help deal with your rat problem, or hiring a Grave Digger to put shovel more rats back into your kingdom feels good. Hoju and I had a game where I got to Remodel my Hovel… into a Silver… I guess I tore down the place and sold the land. Good stuff… especially on the back of the last set, which had some very obscure action cards. How or what was I supposed to do with Mandarin, and why was he putting cards on top of my deck?
